Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data the SquadBrowser project ("we", "us", the "Service") collects when you use squadbrowser.app, why we collect it, and your rights. SquadBrowser is a community aggregator that displays publicly available Squad game server information.

Who we are

SquadBrowser is an independent, community-run project. For any privacy request you can contact us at privacy@squadbrowser.app.

Data we collect about you

  • Analytics (Google Analytics). We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It sets cookies and collects your approximate location, device and browser type, pages visited, and interactions.
  • Server logs. Our servers automatically record your IP address, user-agent and timestamps for security and abuse prevention.
  • Steam sign-in. If you log in via Steam (OpenID), we receive your public SteamID and public profile information (name, avatar). We never receive your Steam password.
  • Player tracking lists. If you create tracking lists, we store the SteamIDs you add and the list names, linked to your account, so we can show you where those players are active.
  • Cookies and local storage. We use a small number of functional cookies: language preference (NEXT_LOCALE), theme, your session, and your cookie-banner acknowledgement.

Data about third parties (players on servers)

SquadBrowser displays player names, SteamIDs and online status that we obtain through standard public game-server queries (Steam A2S / RCON). This information is already publicly broadcast by the game servers themselves. If you are a player and want your data removed from our index, contact us at privacy@squadbrowser.app.

Why we use your data (legal basis)

  • To operate and secure the Service (legitimate interest).
  • To provide account features such as tracking lists (performance of a service you requested).
  • To measure and improve the site via analytics (legitimate interest / consent).

Third parties we share data with

We do not sell your personal data.

Data retention

Account and tracking-list data are kept while your account exists. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings.

Your rights

Depending on your location (including the EU/EEA under the GDPR and the Russian Federation under Federal Law No. 152-FZ), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@squadbrowser.app. You can also delete your account at any time, and you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings.

International users

The Service is available worldwide. By using it, you understand that your data may be processed on servers located in different countries.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
